Village Halls Week 2018 - thank you

Monday, January 29, 2018

A huge thank you to all the Village Hall representatives who came along to our Village Halls coffee morning last week as part of National ACRE's first ever Village Halls Week. It was great to see so many representatives there from different community buildings across the county and we hope you enjoyed the morning. And thank you to Frances Harris, our Community Facilities Advisor, for not only organising the coffee morning and providing an informative and useful session on Community Infrastructure Organisations, but also making all the delicious cakes and biscuits!

We are intending to hold further coffee mornings later in the year and will keep you updated.

Our coffee morning was just one of many events that took place around the country to champion the invaluable work done by the dedicated volunteers who run our rural community buildings. National ACRE's first ever Village Halls Week ran from Monday 22 January to Sunday 28th January and celebrated the network of 10,000 community buildings in rural England, which provide vital access to local services. You can see someof the other events that took place by following #VillageHallsWeek on social media:

  • on Twitter via  @VillageHalls_Wk
  • on Facebook via @ACRE_National
  • on Instagram via @acrenational

And if you help to run a community building, why not hold your own #VillageHallsWeek coffee morning and remind your community just how lucky they are to have a community building that is available for everyone to use?  Raise the profile of 'your' fundraising activity, thank 'your' local committee members and promote the services offered at 'your' hall. Or just show off 'your' hall - share photographs, news, stories and events as part of #VillageHallsWeek.

If you would like help to promote your hall or would like more information about the service Northamptonshire ACRE offers to Community Buildings Members, please contact Frances Harris, our Community Facilities Advisor. Email frances.harris@northantsacre.org.uk or tel. 01604 825888.
